Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the club are now very close to being able to announce Folarin Balogun’s new contract, on the Gunners’ official website.
Balogun’s future at Arsenal has been very uncertain for months now, with the talented youngster’s current deal set to expire.
However, reports in recent days have suggested that Balogun has eventually decided to commit his future to Arsenal.
And Arteta hinted that the announcement is now imminent.
“We’re going to make it official when it’s official and everything is done, but as I said before I was being very positive that he wants to stay at the club. We want him to stay at the club so we are very close,” he said.
Balogun signing a new deal looks like majorly important news for Arsenal’s future.

The teenager is regarded as a potential star of tomorrow, and may well save them millions in the market.
Arsenal are likely to offload a striker this summer – but there may be some hope that Balogun could step into the first-team.
Balogun has already shown glimpses of real talent when offered chances by Arteta.
The youngster has fallen out of favour more recently, as he hadn’t committed his future to the club.
But he has already retuned to first-team training now, and it seems that he could be far more involved at Arsenal, with his new contract set to be officially announced soon.
