Arsenal have been handed a massive injury boost ahead of Sunday’s Premier League visit to West Ham United.
Bukayo Saka has arguably been Arsenal’s best player this season.
The 20-year-old attacker is the Gunners’ leading goalscorer and his participation heavily influences whether Mikel Arteta’s side are going to win.
And fortunately for the North Londoners, he’s available to visit East London on Sunday.
Saka picked up a knock in the 3-1 win over Manchester United last weekend, as Arsenal wrestled control of Champions League qualification ahead of Tottenham.
However, the Spanish manager revealed via Football London today that he’s expecting the England international to make the visit across the capital this weekend to face the Hammers.
Arteta said: “Hopefully he will be fine. He had some issues in the final part of the game but he’s recovered well and we expect him to be available.”
Boost?
Absolutely it’s good news.
As mentioned, no Arsenal player has found the net more times than Saka this season and with Arteta’s troops fighting to finish fourth, well now is not the time to be missing your best players.
And Saka definitely qualifies as one of the Gunners’ best players, so the fact that he’s likely available on Sunday is huge.
Remember, the Emirates Stadium outfit are only two points clear of Tottenham, who they face on May 12.
Any slip-up versus the Irons could be fatal for their top-four chances but their chances of victory on Sunday increase if Saka is available.
