Mikel Arteta has revealed that the performances of Arsenal loanees Konstantinos Mavropanos and William Saliba aren’t going under his radar.

The Gunners boss and Edu loaned Mavropanos to Stuttgart last summer after being deemed surplus to requirements this season.

A few months later, Saliba, who joined Arsenal in a £27 million deal in 2019, joined Liue 1 outfit Nice until the end of the season.

The North Londoners have lost two centre-backs since loaning Saliba out – Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi – and with David Luiz out of contract this summer, there may be room for one or both to stay at the Emirates Stadium for the 2020-21 campaign.

Mavropanos and Saliba are both impressing in a big way at the moment and Arteta has told a press conference that he’s fully aware of their form.

He told Football London: “We’re having meetings very often to assess what they’re doing. I want to keep a very close eye on what they are doing. We were talking yesterday with Ben Knapper who is our loan manager. He monitors everything we are doing.

“Let’s see. It is good news they are playing. It’s going to give us a much better perception of where they are.”
