Mikel Arteta has told Arsenal’s official website that Calum Chambers now ‘looks completely ready’ to step into their team.
Chambers has been out with injury for some time now, and has not made a Premier League appearance since 2019.
The central defender has been back in training of late though, with his performances impressing Arteta.
And the Arsenal boss said: “We’ve got Calum now that has been training really well in the last three to four weeks as well and looks completely ready to step in so everybody has to play at their best level and we’re going to have to rotate players as well with the amount of games that we have.”
If Chambers is to break into Arsenal’s team he will have to force his way past a number of players.
David Luiz, Rob Holding, Pablo Mari and Gabriel all appear to be ahead of Chambers in the pecking order currently.

However, with the Gunners facing a busy schedule until the end of the season, the £16 million man (Goal) may have some chance of being rotated into the squad.
Arsenal are next in action against Benfica tomorrow, but Chambers looks likely to be on the bench, as Arteta’s side look to seal their progress in the Europa League.
