With Arsenal hosting Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, Lino Sousa has been spotted in first-team training.

It has previously been claimed that the 18-year-old has been considered as a talent capable of becoming a first-team player real soon.

As Arsenal trained in preparation of their upcoming contest against Nottingham Forest, Lino Sousa was in and amongst the action.

Clearly, the English U-17 international, who is a left-back by trade could perhaps take Kieran Tierney’s berth in the squad as a backup to Oleksandr Zinchenko.

After all, the Scot has continually been linked with a summer exit and by the looks of things, it seems as if he will leave the club inevitably.

As Arsenal gear themselves to return to winning ways against Nottingham Forest, youth team expert Jeorge Bird claimed that Lino Sousa was involved in training.

Branded as ‘outstanding’ by former club youth coach Kevin Betsy, it has been stated that he has impressed many within the first-team staff, as per a report by Football.London.

Joining the club from West Bromwich Albion in 2022, he clearly seems to have made a serious impression in quick-time.

HITC View: Lino Sousa could save his club millions

It would not be a surprise to see Mikel Arteta’s side invest in a brand-new left-back come the summer, if Kieran Tierney indeed decides to leave.

However, if Lino Sousa does impress in training for Arsenal ahead of games like against Nottingham Forest, perhaps the club could well give him a shot.

Known for being a traditional left-back that bombs up and down the pitch, it can be said that he profiles similarly to Tierney.

If Arteta deems Sousa ready to provide competition to Zinchenko, the club would no longer have to scour the market to bolster the position and could instead focus on reinforcing other areas of the pitch in the summer.
