Eddie Nketiah just might be set for a recall to Arsenal’s Premier League XI tomorrow.

The 21-year-old striker has only started one game in that competition this season and his goal against Dundalk in the Europa League on Thursday night means that he is now the Gunners’ top goalscorer this season with five.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta hinted after the game in Dublin that he could bring Nketiah into his starting lineup for the visit of Burnley and, if he does, struggling £50 million man Alexandre Lacazette would need to drop out.

Lacazette, like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is struggling for goals in a major way this season, failing to score in the league since September, and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Arteta brings Nketiah back in against the Clarets after his comments on Thursday.

Further back, Thomas Partey remains injured after last week’s North London derby defeat at Tottenham Hotspur and that perhaps opens the door for Mohamed Elneny to come back in.

Elneny was on the substitute’s bench against Spurs but that midfield axis of him and Granit Xhaka has been successful this season.

In fact, the Egypt international was arguably the North Londoners’ best player in their last Premier League win – a 1-0 victory away to Manchester United six weeks ago – and the Spanish coach could well recall the £7 million Arsene Wenger signing.

Here’s how Arsenal could potentially line up tomorrow: Leno; Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney; Xhaka, Elneny; Willian, Saka, Aubameyang, Nketiah
