Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has warning for Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told The Daily Mail that Tottenham Hotspur may have to sell players in the summer transfer window.

Wenger, who will leave Arsenal at the end of the season, has stated that bitter North London rivals Tottenham may have to sell some of their players, including star striker Harry Kane, in order to fund their new stadium.

According to The Daily Mail, the new White Hart Lane will cost £1 billion, and the Frenchman has suggested that Spurs may have to sell their players to Arsenal.

Wenger told The Daily Mail: “There are some things that have changed (since Arsenal moved). The impact of the transfers has increased a lot. The prices have gone up and the prices for the stadium have doubled.

“The transfers of the players have tripled or quadrupled. A £10million player when we built the stadium was huge.

“Today a guy like Harry Kane, I don’t know for much they can sell him. £100m? So they might get more supply. But they will have to face it.”

When asked whether Tottenham will be forced to sell players to finance the stadium switch, Wenger stated: “To Arsenal, maybe.”

Tough times ahead?

It will be tricky for Tottenham to balance being competitive and successful and balancing the books in the coming years.

However, Arsenal did it after they left Highbury for the Emirates Stadium, and Spurs should be confident that thy will be able to do so as well.

Spurs have finished in the top four of the Premier League for the third season in a row, and playing in the Champions League on a regular basis is going to be key to the North London club’s success in the coming years.
