Arsene Wenger has praised Liverpool forward Diogo Jota on beIN SPORTS.
The former Arsenal manager believes that Jota is a very convincing player.
Wenger made the comments about the former Wolverhampton Wanderers star while looking ahead to Portugal’s chances of winning the Euro 2020 finals this summer.
The Frenchman told beIN SPORTS: “They have Jota who plays now at Liverpool, who is a very convincing player.”
Jota is one of the better forward players in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old had injury problems this past season, but when he was fit and played, he was very good.
The Liverpool star made 12 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League this past season.
The Portugal international scored nine goals in those games.
Jota also made six starts and three substitute appearances in the Champions League for the Reds this past campaign.
The former Wolves star scored four goals and gave one assist in those games.
Portugal will head into the Euro 2020 finals as one of the favourites to win it.
For that to happen, Jota will have to be at his best.
The Liverpool star can play in a number of positions in attack.
Jota can play as a winger, as a number 10 and as part of a front-three.
Liverpool fans will hope that Jota has a good European Championship campaign with Portugal and is able to kick off next season strongly.
