Arsenal defeated Sunderland 4-1 at the Stadium of Light.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says he admires striker Olivier Giroud as he praised the Frenchman’s mental toughness following his goalscoring return against Sunderland, the club’s official website report.
Giroud has spent the majority of this season watching on from the sidelines, largely due to Wenger opting to play Alexis Sanchez through the middle and the excellent scoring form of Theo Walcott.
However, the France international evidently still has a huge part to play in the Gunners’ campaign this season, and he played a leading role in his side’s latest win at Sunderland.

Coming off the bench with the scoreline locked at 1-1, Giroud scored twice in quick succession to put the game beyond the Black Cats and momentarily help to send Arsenal to the top of the Premier League table.
Talking to the club’s official website after the game, Wenger says he admires Giroud for mental toughness.
“Olivier is a guy who is mentally absolutely fantastic. He’s strong and every time he’s questioned, he gives you the right answer on the pitch. I admire that in him,” Wenger explained.
“He’s a guy who has gone through some different questions. Even before the European Championship in France, he was questioned by the crowd and in the end everybody was on his side.”

Giroud put Arsenal on their way with what appeared to be his first touches of the ball, before Chilean international Sanchez completed the scoring with another solid finish moments later.
With Arsenal’s attacking players in such form, there is no doubt they have one of the most potent attacks in the Premier League and certainly the capability to go on and win the Premier League title.
