Arsenal boss says he does not regret starting midfielder against Liverpool.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has received plenty of criticism over the past fortnight but has come out fighting his corner.
Their last match was a crushing 4-0 defeat to Liverpool, and Wenger sold one of his players who started the game to the Reds just two days later.
Wenger still believes his decision to start Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at Anfield was the correct choice, and the England international was not distracted by a potential move.

He was quoted by The Guardian: “If I am a football player, I can perform even if Liverpool is in my head.
“I don’t think that should stop you to perform.
“Did it? I think he was not worse than any other player on the football pitch.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain was sold to Liverpool ahead of the transfer deadline and has linked up with the squad this week after international duty with England.
He played at wing-back for Arsenal against Liverpool and was given a torrid time by Sadio Mane.
At Liverpool he hopes to get more opportunities to play as a midfielder, even though competition for places will be tough.
Arsene Wenger meanwhile remains under pressure with the Gunners attempting to bounce back from two successive losses when they host Bournemouth this weekend.
