Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reacted to Granit Xhaka’s debut via the club’s official website.
The midfielder is Arsenal’s only big signing this summer so far after he completed a move from Borussia Monchengladbach before Euro 2016.
Fans are highly anticipating the role he will play in the side, having seen him star for Switzerland at the tournament in France.

They will have been highly encouraged by what they saw on Friday as he put in an assured debut performance in the win over the MLS All-Stars.
And his new manager was certainly impressed, saying that the midfielder’s display was encouraging.
“He did adjust very well,” he told the club’s official website.
“His passing was clean and technically he did well. Overall I believe his first game was encouraging.”

It now remains to be seen if Xhaka can go on to establish himself as a first team star in the Arsenal midfield next season.
The Gunners midfield is a highly competitive one to say the least, but given the money they have paid for him it seems likely he will be in the first team from the get go.
He will have to impress Arsene Wenger first though, and his debut will have gone a long way to doing just that.
