Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger in the stands
Arsene Wenger has told Arsenal’s official website that there is a lot to come from Granit Xhaka in future.
The midfielder is Arsenal’s only signing of the summer so far, having agreed a deal before Euro 2016.
There is great anticipation about his arrival at the club, with Gunners fans having watched him put in several impressive performances for Switzerland at Euro 2016 during this summer’s tournament.
Switzerland’s Granit Xhaka
They are hoping he can add the physical presence that has been missing from their midfield since Patrick Vieira departed the club.
Wenger is clearly a fan and says there is a lot to come from the midfielder in future.
“[Xhaka brings] his passing ability to play through the lines from deep positions, his work rate, and he’s good in the air. He’s a young boy as well, 23 years old. There’s a lot to come from him,” he told arsenal.com.

It remains to be seen what impact that Xhaka can have at the club next season, with the Arsenal midfield a highly competitive one to say the least.
Wenger already has a plethora of options available to him in the position and Xhaka faces a fight to secure a regular spot.
Given the price they have paid for him though, he is expected to be a starter, and it will be interesting to see who drops out to accommodate him.
