The legendary Arsenal manager backs Tottenham Hotspur to rise again under their under-fire coach.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Mauricio Pochettino will turn around Tottenham Hotspur’s early-season crisis.
Spurs lost 3-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion this past weekend to make it a truly horrendous week for the club.
Six days ago, Pochettino cut an isolated figure on the touchline as he watched his Tottenham charges suffer a 7-2 defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
The defeat at The Amex piles more pressure on the Argentine, who is yet to win a trophy since joining the North Londoners six years ago and the Lilywhites – 13 points behind Liverpool and out of the League Cup – will do well to buck that trend come May.
Wenger, who left Arsenal in the summer of 2018 after 22 years at the club, enjoyed quite a few derby meetings with Pochettino, and the legendary Frenchman is confident that he can ‘rebuild’.
He told BeIN Sport: “Your quality is always where you finish in the championship so the real trend is there, they knew and Pochettino knows – he said himself – something is not there at the moment and he will certainly rebuild that.
“I like him very much because he has always been quiet, respectful, motivated and worked very well and got a lot of recognition from his own players – that means he is a quality manager.”
It is quite a bold prediction from Wenger, because it does look very much like the Tottenham players have stopped responding to Pochettino and once that happens for sure, it generally results in the manager leaving.
That being said, the former Southampton man, who led Spurs to a Champions League final in June, is clearly a very talented coach and although it’s difficult, turning this around isn’t impossible.
