The Arsenal boss says he is only looking to add in central defence before the end of the window.

Quoted by Goal, Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is only looking to sign a centre back before the end of the transfer window.
The Gunners were expected to be busy this summer to try and bounce back from the disappointment of last season.
That has not proven to be the case though, with Granit Xhaka the only major arrival at the club so far.

They are on the hunt for a new central defender though, with injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista leaving them short ahead of the new season.
And Wenger has insisted that the only area he is looking to improve is the centre of defence.
“Transfer wise, as soon as we do something we will inform you. I am looking at not other areas apart from centre-back, it’s about quality,” Goal reports him saying.

Wenger’s comments will likely come as a major disappointment to Gunners fans, who are keen to see their side sign a striker.
They saw Olivier Giroud shine in the first half of last season but struggle in 2016, going on the longest goal drought of his career to date.
There are major questions about whether he is at the standard for a side looking to challenge, but it appears Wenger is set to stick by the Frenchman this season regardless.
