The Arsenal manager has been speaking ahead of Saturday’s home match against Middlesbrough in the Premier League.

Arsene Wenger is quoted by the Daily Mirror as stating that Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck is ahead of schedule in recuperating from his knee injury.
Wenger believes that the England international will return to first-team action in January after suffering cartilage damage to his right knee against Manchester City in May, following which he was initially expected to be out for nine months.
But, Welbeck could return a month ahead of schedule, although Wenger admits that it will take the forward a while to return to full fitness.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of Saturday’s home match against Middlesbrough, Wenger was questioned over Welbeck’s return.
The French boss is quoted by the Daily Mirror stating: “He’s ahead of schedule and he’ll be back in January. It will take two months competition for him to get back to his best.”
The Frenchman was also asked whether there were any other injury concerns to his Gunners squad and in particular whether muscular injuries have been reduced in football.

He replied: “We’ve improved on muscular injuries tremendously over the last two or three years and hopefully we can continue that.”
Welbeck, 25, joined Arsenal from Manchester United in 2014, but has had his playing time at the Emirates impacted by injuries.
However, he has still scored 13 goals in 49 matches in all competitions and has duly won over fans due to his finishing abilities.
