Arsene Wenger told beIN SPORTS that Roberto Firmino is a player you ‘don’t find a lot’ as he praised the uniqueness of the Liverpool forward.
It has been an up and down season for Liverpool’s technically gifted number nine, as he has drifted in and out of form throughout the campaign.
The 29-year-old, who has scored six goals and provided five assists, is missing that spark, quality first touch and natural flair to his game – although, it was on show when he put a quite audacious assist on a plate for Mohamed Salah during their defeat at the King Power.
Nonetheless, Wenger would have worked with some of the best number nine’s during his days as a coach and he is a fan of what Firmino brings to the table.
“He is a kind of striker that you don’t find a lot,” said Wenger. “They work hard for the team and they make players around them better.
“Let’s be honest, you want everything from the player. But what I mean is that I have seen many strikers that when they don’t score, they go into the dressing room and they are ready to destroy the team.
“He is always ready to work for the team and puts his body on the line for others and I respect that. Maybe he is short of goals, Firmino.
“But all the rest, you cannot fault him.”

Well, Liverpool are trying to find that balance within their team and they will be hoping it comes in the Champions League tonight.
The Reds will take on RB Leipzig tonight where they will be hoping to park their troubles in England’s top-flight and get back to winning ways in Europe.
Just like the weekend, if Liverpool continue their indifferent performances and suffer a defeat here then it will no doubt make the headlines.
