The former Arsenal striker joined Philippe Montanier’s side in the summer.

Quoted by Goal, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has backed Nicklas Bendtner to be a success at Nottingham Forest.
The Danish striker found himself as a free agent this summer after being released by German side Wolfsburg and he eventually joined Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window as they looked to bolster their forward options.
Now he is looking to get his career back on track with Philippe Montanier’s team after a disappointing spell in the Bundesliga and with Arsenal before that.

Tuesday evening saw him finally make his full debut for Forest, ironically against the Gunners in the EFL Cup.
It proved to be an unhappy reunion as his old side ran out 4-0 winners but Wenger believes happier times could on the horizon for him.
“He’s only 28, so if he can stay fit he can come back to the top level. A hungry Bendtner can score goals against anybody,” Goal quotes him saying.
“He’s intelligent and he’s honest. He knows that he has made some mistakes in his career but he has got the quality to get the career his talent deserves.”

It remains to be seen if Bendtner can prove to be a hit at Forest this season.
There is no denying they need a goalscorer in their team having only managed 43 in the whole of last season, the fourth lowest tally in the division.
With their defence struggling this season – they have conceded 17 in eight games so far – they need all the goals they can get and will be hoping Bendtner can help in that regard.
