It looks like Arsenal clearly failed to re-negotiate an extension with Saint-Etienne for William Saliba.
The Ligue 1 club wanted their star loanee to play in next week’s French Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain.
But Saint-Etienne hit out at Arsenal for their financial demands with regards to an extension.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said last week that the statement didn’t necessarily spell the end of both sides’ negotiations.
But Saliba – who reportedly wanted to play in the match – won’t be featuring now.
The 19-year-old defender, who joined Arsenal for £27 million last summer but was loaned straight back to Saint-Etienne, is back in London, after his agent posted a video of his client tucking into a bit of grub this afternoon.
If Saliba was going to face PSG, he wouldn’t be back in England and it seems like he’ll be with Arteta’s side from here on in.
The young Frenchman might even make an appearance at Wembley tonight, but as a visitor as Arsenal prepare to face Manchester City in an FA Cup semi-final.
