Arsenal boss Unai Emery has said it’s too early to decide whether Dani Ceballos will be signed in the long term, but did reveal that a permanent deal would be explored if he helps the club to reach its goals.
The Gunners signed Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid this past summer and the Spanish playmaker has dazzled at times.
That being said, the 23-year-old has also struggled occasionally during his move to Arsenal, who would have to pay some £30 million to sign him on a permanent basis.
According to El Desmarque, the Londoners have already made an offer to sign him up, but Emery has rubbished that idea.
He told The Standard: “I think it is very soon to say that. Ceballos is doing great things, he is playing regularly. Of course I know he has a lot of potential and I think this is just the beginning.
“We are only in October, there is still a long way to take that process. The ultimate goal for me with Ceballos is if he can bring us all his potential.
“If he can help us to achieve all our goals as a team with more positive performances, we are more than happy to count on him.”
Ceballos has scored once and set up another two in 12 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions.
It’s by no means a bad record, but there is work to do.
