The Arsenal defender was kept busy in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham.
Sunday afternoon saw arguably the most anticipated game of the weekend as Arsenal hosted rivals Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates.
It proved to be an entertaining fare as both sides went on the offensive in search of all three points, sharing 25 shots in total throughout.
The defences ruled, though, as only five of those shots ended up on target and the two teams played out a 1-1 draw.

One defender was in particularly dominant form in the game and that was Arsenal’s Shkodran Mustafi, who was playing against Spurs for the first time in his Gunners career.
He posted eight interceptions in total, the most managed by any player in the game and indeed the most managed by any player in all the Premier League games this weekend.
| Match | Interception Won | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shkodran Mustafi | Arsenal vs Tottenham | 8 | 90 |
| Nacho Monreal | Arsenal vs Tottenham | 7 | 90 |
| Yohan Cabaye | Burnley vs C. Palace | 6 | 90 |
His tally saw him ahead of Gunners teammate Nacho Monreal, who posted seven, and Crystal Palace’s Yohan Cabaye, who managed six in his side’s loss to Burnley.
It is an impressive number and goes to show just how busy Arsenal’s defence were alongside Harry Kane and company.
Arsene Wenger will certainly be hoping there are more equally impressive displays to come from his central defender as they eye a title challenge this season.
