Granit Xhaka fell foul of Arsenal fans again last week.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears to have ‘liked’ an Instagram post which suggested that Arsenal should sell Granit Xhaka.
The Switzerland international has never been a popular player among the Emirates faithful and that will remain the case for a while after conceding a penalty in last week’s North London Derby with Tottenham Hotspur.
Xhaka joined Arsenal for £35 million in 2016 and has clocked over 100 Premier League appearances under Arsene Wenger and later Unai Emery, illustrating that managers like him.
But one supporter – Troopz of Arsenal Fan TV fame – called on Emery to axe the 26-year-old midfielder, before the post was ‘liked’ by his Gunners team-mate.
Xhaka does have a reputation for being a tad clumsy and it is slightly perplexing how he has managed to make a century of league appearances for the Londoners.
That being said, one of the first acts that Arsenal’s hierarchy made in the post-Wenger era was signing the former Borussia Monchengladbach star up to a new deal, further evidence that Emery – who started him in 29 Premier League games last season – is a fan.
But there is much more competition for places in the Gunners’ midfield now as a result of Dani Ceballos’s arrival and Mateo Guendouzi’s ongoing development, meaning that Xhaka might be punished for errors going forward.
