The German midfielder enjoyed a fine afternoon against the Foxes.

Sunday afternoon was certainly a good one for Mesut Ozil as his side ran out 2-1 winners over Leicester City.

The German midfielder was key to his side’s last minute win, courtesy of Danny Welbeck’s header, as he provided the cross into the box for the striker to turn home.

That was the latest in a long line of assists for Ozil this season, with the one against the Foxe taking him to 17 in total for this season.

Most of those have come from his excellent eye for a pass, but it seems that he was dominant in another surprising area in Sunday’s win.

As shown by the table provided by Opta, he posted six accurate crosses in the game over his 90-minute display.

That was more than any other player in the Premier League over the weekend, with his closest competitors being Sunderland forward Wahbi Khazri and Arsenal teammate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who managed four.

An impressive tally for Ozil then, who will be hoping he can dominate other statistical areas in the games remaining this season as they eye the title come the end of the season.
