The 27-year-old Gunners star has now made more assists than any other German player since his introduction to the national side seven years ago.

The Evening Standard reported a tweet from Opta highlighting how Ozil’s assist last night was his 35th since his debut in 2009 – more than any other player during that period:

Surprisingly, Ozil is yet to register an assist for his club this term after six appearances, but he has chipped in with two goals.

The former Real Madrid man was sensational for the Gunners last term, as he chalked up 19 assists in 35 League outings – just one short of Thierry Henry’s club and Premier League record.
