Arsenal managed to bring in Kieran Tierney in the summer, and he is starting to make an impact at the Emirates Stadium now.

Arsenal summer signing Kieran Tierney has told the Daily Mirror that Unai Emery has been ‘brilliant’ since he arrived at the Emirates Stadium.

Tierney has made a slow start at Arsenal, with Emery looking to protect the left-back as he comes back from injury.

Although Tierney has started much more frequently recently, he has waited a long time for a run of games with the Gunners.

Some Arsenal fans felt that Tierney should have been utilised far sooner than Emery chose to.

However, Tierney has thrown his support behind the Spanish boss, as the pressure mounts on him.

“It is up to us as players to correct it on the pitch,” Tierney said. “For me, he (Emery) has been brilliant since I’ve come in.

“I have learned a lot. Everybody in the changing room has got belief in each other and the manager.”

Tierney’s words are likely to be massively welcomed by Emery, as praise for his management has been all too rare of late.

The Arsenal boss has come in for fierce criticism, with the Gunners struggling to live up to expectations this term.

Arsenal’s form over recent weeks has been poor, with Emery’s men looking extremely porous in defence.

Things do not get any easier for Arsenal at the weekend either, as they face a tough test against high flying Leicester City tomorrow.
