The Arsenal man could prove to be a fantastic addition to the Newcastle United squad…if he can remain fit.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez is expected to make a whole host of new signings this summer, as he looks to build on his already strong group of players in an effort to guide them to a successful Premier League campaign.
One particular area where the Spaniard will want to strengthen is central midfield, and a creative play-maker will surely feature highly on his wish-list.
With this in mind, an interesting option for Newcastle could be Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere, albeit a risky one.

The 25-year-old has endured nothing short of a nightmare three-year spell, making just 32 Premier League starts, but when he is fit and firing, there are not many better in the game at carrying the ball from deep and breaking down stubborn defences.
The Arsenal man would be the ideal addition for the Toon, lining up alongside his countryman Jonjo Shelvey in the middle of the park. He is wonderfully gifted with the ball at his feet, and his tight dribbling skills could prove to be a major asset to Benitez’ side, when they are trying to break down some of the more stubborn defences in the league.

The 34-capped England international would also provide Rafa with more variety in his tactical play. Wilshere can play in the deep-lying play-maker role, in an orthodox central midfield position or more advanced in the number 10 role.
Whilst 17th position and above would constitute a successful campaign for Newcastle next season, the Toon Army are a demanding bunch, and will expect more than just survival.
They are notorious for wanting to be entertained on a regular basis, and with that in mind, Wilshere could be just the man for the job.
