Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka and his Switzerland side suffered a setback in their quest to qualify for Euro 2020, as they face off against the Republic of Ireland in a crucial clash tomorrow night.

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has expressed his disappointment at his Switzerland losing a crucial Euro 2020 qualifier against Denmark over the weekend, as he urged his team to keep their ‘heads up’ for Tuesday night’s clash.
On Saturday, the Swiss were beaten 1-0 in Denmark, with Arsenal’s man in the middle playing the full encounter for his country.
Now, attention will turn to the Republic of Ireland, who are currently sitting top of Group D on 12 points, and a win for Xhaka’s side against Mick McCarthy’s men would throw this group well and truly wide open.
Nonetheless, this is the message Xhaka sent from his personal Instagram account, with former Arsenal man, Johan Djourou ensuring him that ‘everything is still in our hands’:

Xhaka will be hoping for all three points for the Irish, so he can boost Switzerland’s chances of qualifying, as well as returning back to North London full of confidence.
The Gunners have yet to taste defeat in all competitions since August, as they currently sit third in the Premier League table and could potentially go second if they better Man City’s result during these next set of fixtures.
Arsenal’s captain, who signed for the club for £35 million from German side Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016 [BBC Sport], has been crucial to their form and will continue to play a key role if they are to maintain their current status.
