Arsenal technical director Edu has told Patrick Vieira that his induction to the Premier League Hall of Fame is ‘well deserved’, as he posted on Instagram.
The Crystal Palace boss expressed that he is ‘very honoured’ to be inducted into the Premier League’s Hall of Fame.
This comes after the former hard-hitting midfielder and Arsenal invincible produced some of the greatest moments of the modern era.
From running midfields like a general in an army camp to the infamous tunnel bust-up with Manchester United’s Roy Keane.
Vieira has left memories in English football that still last today and will continue to remain in the memory banks of football supporters in decades to come.
Whilst Arsenal are now picking up with their young and vibrant squad under Mikel Arteta.
For years and years, they have craved a player and character of Vieira’s ilk, both on and off the pitch.
But, this is the time for the likes of current captain Alexandre Lacazette and hard-hitting midfielder, Thomas Partey, to write their own names into the club’s legendary books.
They’ll never reach the levels the likes of Vieira did during their playing days, but it’s all about small steps for this Arsenal side that looks like the shadow of the team that used to dominate under Arsene Wenger during the noughties.
Nonetheless, after the international break, Vieira’s Palace side will welcome Arsenal to Selhurst Park where they will be hoping to upset their chances of securing Champions League football at the end of the campaign.
