Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka says that he agrees with Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips, who claimed he scored twice for England last night.
Bagging a brace?
The Arsenal youngster was unfortunate not to have his first International brace, as his first strike went down as an own goal.
Saka took aim from inside the box only to see his shot deflect past the San Marino goalkeeper in England’s 10-0 win, where Leeds man Phillips also started.
Saka did at least head home late on to ensure that he got his name on the scoresheet.
But it seems that Leeds United’s Phillips was of the opinion that the Arsenal man deserved another goal to add to his tally.
Building a friendship
Phillips and Saka seem to have formed a strong bond in their time together with England.
Unfortunately for the Leeds enforcer, he is still searching for his first International goal though.
Phillips was unable to really come close to scoring, even as England dominated last night.
He continues to impress in a Three Lions’ shirt though, and he is almost a shoo-in for the World Cup in 2022 now.
Phillips’ attention will now return to matters with Marcelo Bielsa’s side, with Leeds set to take on Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend, where we secretly suspect Saka may be cheering his international teammate on against Arsenal’s fierce rivals.
