Jamie Carragher heaped praise on Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney during Sky Sports’ live coverage of Arsenal’s defeat to Everton on Saturday evening.

The TV pundit thinks that Saka is ‘Arsenal’s best player’, whilst he also feels the teenager has built a very strong relationship with Tierney on the left-hand side.

Whilst Arsenal fell to a narrow defeat at Goodison Park, two of their better players were their thriving stars on the left.

They certainly impressed Carragher, who was commentating on the game from the weekend.

“Well, these two have been really good down this side,” said Carragher. “I keep mentioning Tierney and Saka involved again. They are the bright spots for Arsenal today.

“Up until now, it’s probably been an underwhelming performance from Arsenal. But they have a real connection together. Always looking to find each other.

“He [Saka] has been Arsenal’s best player. Every time he gets the ball it looks as though something is going to happen. To think at 19, he looks Arsenal’s best player.”

Arsenal are still hovering above the relegation zone. Arsenal are still producing abject performances. Arsenal players who let Arsene Wenger down and Unai Emery down, are now doing the same with Mikel Arteta.

Yet the one thing that doesn’t change are the players themselves.

Those in North London are heading one way and one way only. Not only do Arsenal lack serious quality, but there doesn’t seem to be a togetherness or any real spirit at the club.

Arteta getting sacked will probably be the end result, but it won’t be the end of this nightmare story.
