Hector Bellerin has impressed for Arsenal over this past season, and is now in contention for a Euro 2016 spot with Spain.

Arsenal star Hector Bellerin could make the Spain squad for Euro 2016, should Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal fail to prove his fitness over the next week, as reported by talkSPORT.
The 21-year-old Barcelona academy graduate was originally named on the stand-by list for the tournament. He was given the chance in his country’s 3-1 win over Bosnia because six members of the Spain squad were given extra time to recover following their involvement in the Champions League final.
talkSPORT report that scans have since shown that Carvajal has suffered a grade two tear in of the hip flexor muscles and is now likely to miss the tournament.

Spain coach Vincente Del Bosque confirmed that Bellerin will fill in for the Real Madrid man, should he not recover in time:
“It all depends on what the medical staff say about Carvajal’s fitness. Bellerin will stay with the squad until we know the extent of Carvajal’s injury.”
Although Bellerin was fantastic for Arsenal over this past season, it would surely be a slight concern for the Spanish management if they were to enter a major tournament with a right-back who has just one international cap to his name.

The confidence of the young Spaniard is so high at the moment, however, that he would likely be able to deal with whatever is thrown at him. It is also worth noting that he made his debut for Arsenal in the Champions League away at Borussia Dortmund – one of the most highly charged atmospheres in European football.
If the opportunity eventually does present itself to Bellerin, it would be one he will undoubtedly relish.
