Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has posted on Instagram ‘now focus on’ Arsenal after returning from international duty with Gabon.

Arsenal have been in serious top form of late, but they face their biggest test at the weekend when they take on Liverpool at Anfield.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping that his star striker is fit for the Liverpool match after an injury scare whilst away with Gabon.

Unfortunately for the flying forward, his country failed to reach Qatar 2022, which means he also joins Martin Odegaard on that list after Norway also failed to qualify.

Nonetheless, this was the message Aubameyang posted after heartbreak with Gabon and his return to Arsenal.

“Back in London,” said Aubameyang. “We didn’t qualify for World Cup but I could see during these games we ready for what’s coming next. AFCON. January.

“Now focus on (Arsenal).”

This is a big game for Arsenal and a chance to see where they actually stand going forward under Arteta.

There is no doubt that the North London club have made huge strides after being hit with those three big blows earlier on in the season.

And if they can beat Liverpool at the weekend, then Arteta’s stock will seriously rise and the words ‘trust the process’ might just become more believable.

The Gunners can even go ahead of Jurgen Klopp’s men in the table with three points at the weekend and it’s going to be some test for Liverpool.

Manchester City, Chelsea and the Reds are seen as the title challengers for this season, two of those sides, especially Pep Guardiola’s men, well and truly blitz them a number of weeks ago.

But this is a great chance for this changed and more robust Arsenal backline to prove that they mean serious business moving forward under this manager.
