How Arsenal attacker compares to the entire Tottenham Hotspur attack.
Alexis Sanchez has had a terrific start to life in the Premier League, and has been Arsenal’s star player early on this season.
His impact has been clear to see in attack, in the midst of a hot scoring streak which has been a real plus point for the Gunners.
To look at just how good he has been, a comparison against the entire strike force of rivals Tottenham Hotspur still shows him to be dominant.
| Team | Passing Accuracy | Key Passes per game | Final Third Passes per game | Ball Recoveries per game | Goals | Assists | Shots On Target | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alexis Sánchez | Arsenal | 77% | 2.4 | 19.4 | 5.2 | 8 | 2 | 55% | 781 |
| Emmanuel Adebayor | Tottenham | 76% | 1.2 | 8.4 | 2.3 | 2 | 1 | 50% | 768 |
| Harry Kane | Tottenham | 75% | 0.43 | 2.71 | 0.57 | 1 | 1 | 63% | 185 |
| Roberto Soldado | Tottenham | 73% | 1 | 5 | 1.4 | 0 | 1 | 43% | 226 |
Sanchez’s goalscoring shows up just how bad Tottenham’s strikers have been in the Premier League, netting just three times between them.
He even has just one less assist than the trio combined, and ranks highest in four out of five other key categories.
The Chilean’s pass accuracy, rate of chances created, and final third passes is better than any of his Spurs rivals.
Intriguingly his goals scored (8) compared to Adebayor’s (2), is so different, despite Adebayor landing 50 per cent of his shots on target and Sanchez 55 per cent, in almost an exact number of minutes played. Harry Kane is the only Spurs striker to rank above the £30 million Arsenal man in any category, landing 63 per cent of his efforts on goal.
The figures show everything about how effective Sanchez has been so far, and the lack of impact Tottenham have managed. The poor displays of £26 million Roberto Soldado show the Spaniard to be a terrible waste of money, and Arsenal should be delighted with how well they have bought.
