Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey tops unwanted statistic

Arsenal and Watford stars made errors leading to more shots than any other players this past season.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey failed to grasp the opportunity handed to him this past season in the absence of his injury hit teammates.

The Welshman is gearing up for Euro 2016 with Wales, but does not enter the tournament in great form, not like his outstanding displays two years ago which culminated in him scoring a memorable FA Cup Final winner.

Most worryingly the 25-year-old has added an unwanted element to his game, making more mistakes than he has done previously.

Ramsey made five errors this past season which led to shots for the opposition, from giving the ball away or being dispossessed in key defensive areas.

His five key errors are more than he has made during the past two seasons combined in the Premier League, two the season before and just one a campaign earlier.

This season his Premier League goal tally has also diminished, scoring five compared to 16 over the past two seasons combined, and if he continues to make errors then Arsene Wenger will be increasingly reluctant to give him the game time he needs to do what he does best.
