The promising teenager signed by Arsenal in January has made his first competitive appearance for the club.
Arsenal midfielder Krystian Bielik finally made his debut for the club’s under-18 side this weekend, when he turned out against the Gunners’ young Norwich City counterparts.
Unfortunately for Bielik he did not enjoy a winning start, as Arsenal’s under-18s lost 3-1 to the Canaries.
The Polish midfielder had been tipped to make his debut earlier this month, with the Daily Star claiming the 17-year-old could feature against Leicester City’s next generation on Valentine’s Day.
But that was not to be, and Bielik waited an additional two games – against West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur – before finally taking to the field for some competitive action.
Arsenal’s goal against Norwich came from Josh Da Silva, but it was only a consolation as the Canaries ran out comfortable winners.
Bielik signed for Arsenal from Legia Warsaw for a reported £2.4million in January having made just six senior appearances for the Polish club.
He is an extremely promising player but he may have to wait a while yet before turning out for Arsenal’s first-team, given his age and the players currently ahead of him in the pecking order.
