Nicolo Zaniolo, who has been linked with a transfer to Arsenal in January, has reportedly decided to leave Roma, after being booed by the Stadio Olimpico faithful in his side’s recent 1-0 win against Genoa.

Corriere della Sara had reported that Mikel Arteta himself had met the Italian international to discuss a potential switch to England.

But now, the straw that seems to have broken the camel’s back is the fact that Nicolo Zaniolo was booed by Roma fans, which could push him to join Arsenal in January.

Gazzetta dello Sport has also claimed in January that the £35- £40 million-rated ace (as per Football Italia) had initially requested the Serie A giants to sanction a move away from the club.

However, being at the club since 2018, it seemed as if the 23-year-old was yet to fully make his mind up, which may not be the case now.

From an Arsenal perspective, this could be a wonderful update, after their latest links to another potential January addition in Leandro Trossard.

The Gunners are sitting 8 points clear at the top of the Premier League table, and have a rare chance after years to win the league.

And now, the club could add to their armoury by signing one of Europe’s most coveted midfielders.

As relayed by Football Italia, Arsenal-linked creator Nicolo Zaniolo has decided to bid farewell to Roma in January, after being booed by his own fans during the side’s 1-0 victory over Genoa in the Coppa Italia.

The report states that the player vented out his anger to his family and entourage right after the contest as well.

Ultimately, Arsenal will be hoping that after Nicolo Zaniolo got booed by Roma supporters, he joins the club in January and feels the love of the Emirates faithful.
