Yunus Musah won’t rule out rejoining Arsenal one day despite leaving the Gunners for Valencia back in the summer of 2019.
Arsenal are reaping the rewards of their Hale End academy at the moment with Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah all becoming first-team players.
Yet there are always a few young players who had to leave in order to shine elsewhere; every club has them.
For Arsenal, it’s likes of Serge Gnabry, Ismael Bennacer and Donyell Malen, who have all gone on to shine elsewhere in Europe.

Yunus Musah won’t rule out rejoining Arsenal
Then there is Yunus Musah.
The teenager was never really spoken about in terms of being a first-team player one day and ended up leaving in 2019.
Musah – born in New York to Ghanaian parents but raised in Italy and then England – decided to give Spain a go with Valencia.
Musah quickly rose to prominence under Javi Gracia and became the club’s youngest-ever non-Spanish goalscorer in November 2020.
Capable of playing in midfield or out wide, Musah has become a first-team regular for Valencia and now has 80 appearances to his name.
Musah also has 19 caps for the United States and we may now see him in action during the World Cup.
That means Musah could go up against England and he has already admitted to ESPN that he wants to ‘smash’ Arsenal talent Bukayo Saka in Qatar.
But what about the prospect of them joining forces at Arsenal?
Musah – who has been likened to Paul Pogba by Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper – has now refused to close the door on a move back to North London.
Musah has told CBS Sports that ‘you never know’ whether he could be an Arsenal player in the future.
The 19-year-old added that he loved being at Arsenal and if they want him back one day, he would be open to making the move back.
“You never know,” said Musah. “I had a great time at Arsenal developing there, I still have friends there, the coaches were great, being an Arsenal player in general is great. I loved playing for Arsenal. I’ve nothing against the club and if one day it turns out to be that it’s time to go back then it’s possible. “
“For now I’m really happy at Valencia and I’m looking forward to carrying this season on in the same way we’re doing now,” he added.
