Arsenal have chased Youri Tielemans this summer but Leicester City claim there have been no offers on the table.
The Gunners went into the summer window needing midfield reinforcements and two signings will help with that need.
Fabio Vieira has arrived from Porto to give Mikel Arteta another playmaker, whilst Oleksandr Zinchenko can play at left back or in midfield.
Arsenal’s midfield business could be over, but midfielders continue to be linked with the club, such as Arthur Melo and Youri Tielemans.
Arsenal have chased Youri Tielemans
Throughout the summer window, Leicester City star Tielemans has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.
The Belgian midfielder is out of contract in 2023 and has so far refused to sign a new deal with Leicester.
Tielemans is a proven Premier League midfielder though some have questioned whether he has the athletic ability to be a top-level midfielder.
Mikel Arteta is understood to be a big fan of Tielemans and will wants him on board despite signing Zinchenko.
Reports from Fabrizio Romano earlier this month suggested that Tielemans expected to be an Arsenal player by the end of the window.
Arsenal may well feel that they can secure a relatively cheap deal for Tielemans later in the window given his contract situation but there has been no progress of late.
For now though, Tielemans looks likely to start the new season as a Leicester player and Brendan Rodgers will be looking to count on him.

Arsenal’s first home game of the season sees them take on Leicester, so just who will Tielemans be lining up for?
As far as Leicester are concerned, there isn’t much to talk about on that subject right now.
Leicester chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has told the Leicester Mercury that there is ‘nothing’ concrete around the rumours about Tielemans leaving.
Srivaddhanaprabha added that there have been no offers and no proposals for Tielemans from any other club, meaning it’s business as usual for the Foxes.
“It’s nothing. There haven’t been any offers yet. There hasn’t been anything concrete or a proposition yet,” said Srivaddhanaprabha.
With just over a month of the window left to go, Tielemans heading to Arsenal feels like it’s hanging in the balance.
