Speaking to the club’s official website, Arsenal youngster Alex Iwobi has shared the advice given to him by Gunners superstar Mesut Ozil, and how he was shocked when he heard that the German had compared him to Jay-Jay Okocha and Edgar Davids.
Iwobi has been a revelation for Arsenal since breaking into their first-team this time last year, and has now established himself as a key member of Arsene Wenger’s squad.
Iwobi was speaking to arsenal.com, and opened up on his relationship with Ozil, whilst declaring his surprise at the comparison made by the German:

“Mesut just tells me that I’m young and need to express myself on the pitch. Obviously I need to listen to other people’s advice as well, but he tells me to always play with a smile on my face and enjoy the game. When I saw his comments comparing me to Okocha and Edgar Davids I was like, ‘Wow is he serious?’ because he never really says that much to me. He just gives me advice and help, but it’s such a confidence boost for such a great player to say that about me.”

Arsenal are in the midst of a fine run of form both domestically and on the continent, and have recovered well after their poor start to the season, which saw them take just one point from their opening two league games.
Five league wins on the bounce since then has seen them rise to third in the Premier League table, and a win over Swansea City at the Emirates this afternoon could see them jump to the summit, should other results go their way.
