Inter did pull back one of the two goals they needed to respond, setting up a frantic finish, but despite winning 4-1 on the night, they bowed out just like Arsenal did on away goals.
One of the many watching the tumultuous game was Arsenal starlet Nico Yennaris, who decided to make a point of mocking Tottenham’s plight, only to be left disappointed when the extra-time final whistle blew.
