Paul Merson has suggested on Sky Sports News (1:34pm, April 24, 2021) that Yves Bissouma would be a good signing for Arsenal.

The former Arsenal star, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has outlined the attributes of the midfielder, and believes that the Gunners would sign the Brighton and Hove Albion star, adding that he is a rare midfielder.

Merson said on Sky Sports News (1:34pm, April 24, 2021): “Off the top of my head, I am thinking Arsenal would take him, Manchester United would take him.

“There are not too many people around in football at the moment who can break things up and pass the ball at the same time.”

Linked with Arsenal

Bissouma has actually been linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Football.London reported earlier this month that a close friend of the Brighton midfielder has said that he would choose Arsenal over any other Premier League club.

The Express reported in March that Arsenal are interested in signing the 24-year-old midfielder – who earns £25,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.

Yves Bissouma to Arsenal?

Bissouma has done well for Brighton since he joined the Seagulls in 2018 and has shown that he can hold his own in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old Mali international has progressed well over the years, and he is ready to take the next step in his career.

Thomas Partey is the main defensive midfielder in manager Mikel Arteta’s team.

Bissouma would be a brilliant addition to the Arsenal team, and alongside Ghana international Partey, he would make the Gunners extremely solid and strong in the middle of the park.

Yves Bissouma Stats

According to WhoScored, Bissouma has made 30 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Brighton this season, scoring one goal in the process.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the Mali international midfielder made 15 starts and seven substitute appearances in the league for the Seagulls, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.
