Arsenal are pushing to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star Ruben Neves this summer – and Benfica’s Martim Neto is being lined up to replace him.

It’s clear that Arsenal need some big signings this summer.

The focus has been on adding a new striker or two but Edu also needs to find a quality midfield player as well.

Granit Xhaka isn’t the long-term answer next to Thomas Partey and it’s too soon to throw Albert Sambi Lokonga into a starting role.

Sky Sports now claim that Neves is a ‘top target’ for Arsenal this summer. Wolves allegedly want around £50million to £60million for the midfielder.

Barcelona are keen too but Arsenal are ‘very interested’ in Neves having also targeted him last summer.

A simply ‘sensational’ player according to Gary Neville, Neves has enjoyed a superb season with Wolves but has now been at Molineux for five years.

It may soon be time for Neves to consider something new and Arsenal would no doubt love to pair him with Partey.

According to The Sun, Neves is stalling on a new contract and Wolves may now be willing to sell.

Wolves allegedly have a replacement in mind already with Wolves preparing to move for Benfica talent Martin Neto.

Neto, 19, hasn’t even played for Benfica’s first-team yet but is considered to be a big prospect.

Wolves could land Neto for £10million whilst he has recently switched his agency to Jorge Mendes – the man who brought many players to Wolves.

When Wolves signed Neves in 2017, he was the next big midfield prospect in Portugal.

That could be Neto now, with Wolves preferring to look for the next Neves rather than splash on an established star.

This all points towards Wolves being willing to sell Neves for the right price and you can expect Arsenal to be right there at the front of the queue.
