Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal remain interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves, according to The Mirror.

The Mirror has suggested that Arsenal and Manchester United are still interested in Neves.

The Gunners and the Red Devils wanted to sign the Wolves star in the summer of 2021, according to The Sun.

The Sun reported in July 2021 that Arsenal were in talks with Neves’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

Wolves were reportedly looking for £35 million as transfer fee for the 24-year-old.

No move materialised at the time.

Could Ruben Neves join Arsenal?

In our opinion, Neves could well become an Arsenal player in the future.

Now, we do not think that Wolves will sell the 24-year-old Portugal international midfielder in the January transfer window.

However, a transfer could well happen in the summer of 2022.

Arsenal could end up in the Premier League top four, and that would be very tempting to Neves.

Wolves are an established club in the Premier League, but we do not see the Wanderers challenging for the Champions League places anytime soon.

The Wolves no. 8 has made 16 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

Neves has scored one goal and given one assist in those games.
