Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that the Gunners won against Wolverhampton Wanderers because of central defender Rob Holding.
Arteta’s Arsenal got the better of Wolves 1-0 away from home at Molineux Stadium in the Premier League on Thursday evening.
Brazilian defender Gabriel scored the only goal of the match in the 25th minute.
However, Arsenal had to play with 10 men from the 69th minute after forward Gabriel Martinelli was controversially sent off.
After the game, Arteta has praised Holding for the contribution he made to the result after coming on as a substitute in the 71st minute.

Arteta on Arsenal defender Holding
Arteta told Football.London about Holding: “Today he deserves a lot of credit. He was on the bench, he was ready to help.
“His attitude, his commitment to the team whether he plays every week or plays one minute, it’s incredibly good.
“He’s a really good influence for the rest. Today he really helped the team, the way he defended the box made a huge difference. Thanks to him we won the game.”
How did Rob Holding play v Wolves?
In our view, Holding played a big role for Arsenal in their win against Wolves.
Holding was brought on to shore up the defence, and the 26-year-old English central defender did just that.
The Englishman was a rock at the back and was solid defensively.
Holding kept the Wolves attackers at bay and showed that he is an asset for Arsenal.
Now, it must be frustrating for Holding not to get regular playing time at Arsenal because of Ben White and Gabriel, but he showed against Wolves last night that he can still play a big role for the Gunners in the coming weeks and months.
