Arsenal are reportedly open to the idea of selling Cedric Soares this summer if the right offer comes in for the Portuguese international.
According to the Mirror, the Gunners are warming to the prospect of offloading the 30-year-old right-back despite an incredible run of form this year, with Cedric impressing as Takehiro Tomiyasu works on recovering from injury.
The defender joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2020, and despite some poor performances last season, Cedric has improved greatly this campaign, with the defender winning plaudits from fans and pundits who had previously criticised him.
Former Gunners star Kevin Campbell recently hailed Cedric as ‘excellent’ this year, with the fullback starting the last seven Premier League games, keeping three clean sheets and winning six of them.
With Cedric earning a report £75,000-a-week, more than the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, it makes sense why Arsenal would be open to selling the defender despite arguably his best run of form for the north London side since joining two years ago.
Arteta is set for another huge summer of spending, and given the success of Nuno Tavares as Arsenal’s backup for Kieran Tierney, a similar approach could be done at right-back with Tomiyasu, which means selling Cedric.
Arsenal sale of Cedric would be a harsh yet necessary move

As mentioned, Cedric has hardly put a foot wrong this year for Arsenal, yet given the direction Arteta is taking the club and the steps needed to make this change, offloading the Portuguese international is a necessary move the Gunners have to take.
Indeed, a younger backup for Tomiyasu who can offer different qualities to the Japanese star would be ideal for Arsenal, and for Cedric, the defender deserves to be a regular at another club if this is the way Arteta will do things in the summer.
