Arsenal are a potential destination for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum – and he has fans in Jurgen Klopp and Gary Neville.
Arsenal’s interest in Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum only joined PSG in the summer, signing on a free transfer from Liverpool.
The Dutchman may already look to leave, though. Wijnaldum has only managed seven starts for PSG in Ligue 1 this season.
Wijnaldum wants more than that, and Sky Sports reports he’s keen on a Premier League loan move.
Arsenal look set to lose Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny to the Africa Cup of Nations in January.
Arsenal are therefore thought to be keen on Wijnaldum as a short-term solution in midfield.
Klopp and Neville love Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum spent six years in the Premier League; one with Newcastle and five with Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp loved WIjnaldum at Liverpool. Combining technical ability with energy, work rate and positional awareness, the 31-year-old was ideal for Klopp’s style.

Klopp even went so far as to call Wijnaldum “perfect” because of his wide range of attributes. With Thomas Partey struggling, those attributes could be exactly what Mikel Arteta wants.
Gary Neville even took to Twitter earlier this year to claim Wijnaldum was the most underrated player in the Premier League.
Neville has been critical of the situation surrounding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but would surely be on board with Arsenal signing Wijnaldum? If they can pull it off.
