West Ham United are showing the strongest interest in signing Middlesbrough star Isaiah Jones despite admiring glances from Arsenal.
That’s according to The Northern Echo, who claim that Jones is attracting major interest ahead of the summer transfer window.
It’s claimed that West Ham have been scouting Jones ‘extensively’ for months now, seeming preparing themselves for a bid.
Arsenal allegedly fancy Jones too, but it’s West Ham who seem to be showing the strongest interest.
Jones, 22, actually started out with Tooting and Mitcham United – the same club where Michail Antonio got his start.
Jones was snapped up by Middlesbrough in 2019 and had loan spells at St Johnstone and Queen of the South in Scotland.
This season, Jones has become an absolute star whilst playing as a right wing back under Chris Wilder.
With Djed Spence out on loan at Nottingham Forest, the path has been clear for Jones to come in and make a huge impact.
In 30 Championship games this season, Jones has racked up eight assists, continuously putting quality into the penalty area.

In some cases, defenders just can’t help themselves as they turn the ball into their own net.
Jones is quick and dangerous going forward, which is exactly what managers want from full backs or wing backs in the modern game.
West Ham do have a solid right back in Vladimir Coufal but Ryan Fredericks is out of contract this summer.
That means another right back may be on West Ham’s wish list, even with Ben Johnson also able to play there.
Jones fits the bill, and having gone through the same non-league upbringings, West Ham may feel they have another Michail Antonio success story in their sights.
