Aston Villa have already beaten Arsenal to Emiliano Buendia this summer, and they have now won the race for Bournemouth’s Ajani Burchall too.

Dean Smith’s men are attempting to show some ambition this summer, and pipping the Gunners to Buendia was a great start.

Villa have even been trying to raid Arsenal for Emile Smith Rowe in a very bold move, and the capture of Burchall is certainly a coup for the future.

Bermudan winger Burchall has joined Villa’s academy having already made his senior debut at Bournemouth last season at the age of just 16.

Steve Cook has already branded Burchall ‘special’, and it was reported back in February that Arsenal were leading the race to sign Burchall this summer.

The Gunners have missed out though, with Villa swooping in to beat Arsenal to another signing; make that two this summer!

Burchall may be some way off first-team action at Villa, but the prospect of him, Carney Chukwuemeka and Louie Barry joining forces in the future has to be exciting for Villa fans.

Arsenal fans may not shed any tears about missing out on a 16-year-old right now, but there is real potential for Villa to have beaten Mikel Arteta’s men to a star of the future.
