Borussia Dortmund teammate has backed Shinji Kagawa to hit the ground running for the club.

Shinji Kagawa clinched a move back to Borussia Dortmund on deadline day, and the Japanese international would surprise nobody if he recaptured his form.

It was under the guidance of manager Jurgen Klopp he blossomed originally, and can be assured of a fair crack in his preferred position, something which clearly was not on offer at Manchester United.

He has by all accounts been impressing early in training for the club as they prepare to take on Freiburg this Saturday.

Days later they face Arsenal in the Champions League, and defender Sebastian Kehl has an ominous warning for the Gunners.

He told Sport1: “You could Shinji Kagawa, see the relief (in him). He gets here a lot of confidence.”

Dortmund are so excited to have the Japanese international back on a permanent basis that the latest injury to Marco Reus has failed to dampen Jurgen Klopp’s spirits.

“It could have been worse. Four weeks will go around quickly,” he commented.

With Nuri Sahin out injured too, a re-juvenated Kagawa is just the tonic for Dortmund. Scorer of 29 goals in two seasons for the club, he can further re-emphasise Manchester United’s failings next week when he faces the Gunners.
