If rumours are believed, Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing quite a famous one-time Liverpool target.

Martin Odegaard is all the talk in North London right now for his ever-improving form with the Gunners.

Thing is, he’s only at Arsenal on loan and it looks like the Emirates Stadium club have identified somebody who was perilously close to joining Liverpool once upon a time as a plan-b option.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Mikel Arteta and Edu are interested in bringing Nabil Fekir to the English capital.

Fekir failed a medical at Liverpool back in 2018 but has rebuilt his career with Real Betis in recent years – and is now available for £22 million.

The report adds that Barcelona are also interested in the French playmaker.

If Arsenal are genuinely keen, it’ll be as a contingency option in the event that they can’t prise Odegaard from Real Madrid for the long term.

The 27-year-old has certainly conquered the knee issues that reportedly scuppered a move to Anfield three years ago, having clocked 60 appearance for Betis across all competitions since 2019.
