As Arsenal gear themselves up to face West Ham United on Sunday, Reuell Walters has been pictured in first-team training.

Ahead of their 4-1 victory against Leeds United as well, the 18-year-old was seen training in and amongst the current Premier League leaders.

With Arsenal hoping to return to winning ways against West Ham United, Reuell Walters has been spotted training with the big boys.

A natural centre-back by trade, who was previously at Tottenham Hotspur’s academy has made all the right noises at youth level, with his progress described as ‘tremendous’ by youth team expert Jeorge Bird.

In fact, Walters has been billed as the ‘next Sol Campbell’ by Football Fan Cast, which just goes to show how talented he is, considering the ‘Invincibles’ icon has a case for being the club’s best-ever defender.

As Arsenal released their training gallery on Tuesday, Reuell Walters was seen on the ball with Mauro Bandeira seemingly pressing him ahead of his side’s upcoming contest against West Ham.

The teenager could be set for a place on the bench, if he impresses Mikel Arteta in training.

HITC View: Reuell Walters should be hopeful of becoming a first-team player

One of the most impressive aspects of Arteta’s reign at the club so far is how he has managed to elevate youngsters’ games to another level.

Whether it be Bukayo Saka or Gabriel Martinelli, or even the likes of Eddie Nketiah or Emile Smith-Rowe, all these talents hit unseen heights under his guidance.

Considering the Arsenal boss seems extremely open to giving young talent a chance, Reuell Walters should have hope when it comes to his chances of becoming a first-team player, provided he makes an impression in training ahead of matches such as against West Ham.

As Jakub Kiwior’s spot is far from settled in the roster as well, perhaps he could get his big break much sooner than expected.
